We’re very proud to announce the lineup for Work Bard Play Bard on the 19th October, including the winners of our IdeasTap competition.

You can get tickets to see all these wonderful artists directly from The Pleasance.

We’ll fill you in our own plans another time – but for now…  let’s get to the good stuff.

Two scenes from the stripped-back Shakespeare troupe, who took London by storm in 2014 with their monthly Merely Shakespeare series at The Cockpit

The Handlebards @peculius
Madcap all-male bike troupe present two extracts from their summer  cycle tour of the UK – Macbeth and Comedy of Errors

Zut Alors @zutalorstheatre
After a sell-out run at the Edinburgh Fringe, Zut Alors will be presenting a pair of playful, immersive extracts from Twelfth Night

Invertigo Theatre @invertigoco
All-male classics company, winners of the Charlie Hartill Prize 2013 and the Deutsche Bank Award, performing sonnets

Le Mot Juste @le_motjuste
Physical theatre company from Le Coq, presenting work from their upcoming reinterpretation of Merchant of Venice

Damn’d Spot @backsbroke
Thrilling new Shakespeare company, and participants in RIFT’s Shakespeare in Shoreditch Festival, present a gender-flipped scene from Macbeth

The Rose Company @therosecompany
One of the few all-female classics theatre companies in the UK, with a segment from Richard III

Wicked Bodies @wickedbodies
New company Wicked Bodies will be presenting a special, interactive, hidden scene, originally created for RIFT‘s smash-hit site-specific Macbeth at Balfron Tower.
